How to Maintain Your Car’s New Look After Ceramic Coating
Ceramic coating makes maintenance easier, but proper care is essential to maximize its durability and appearance over the years.
Wash Regularly
Wash your vehicle every two weeks or after exposure to heavy contamination. Use a pH-neutral car shampoo and clean microfiber towels.
Use the Two-Bucket Method
One bucket for wash water, one for rinsing your mitt. This prevents dirt from being dragged back across the paint and causing swirl marks.
Avoid Automated Car Washes
Brush car washes can damage the coating. Touchless washes are acceptable but hand washing is best.
Do Not Wax Over the Coating
Ceramic coating does not need wax. Applying wax over a coated surface is unnecessary and can interfere with the coating’s hydrophobic properties.
Address Contamination Quickly
Bird droppings, tree sap and bug splatter should be removed promptly. While the coating resists these contaminants, prolonged exposure can still cause damage.
